Amarri C. Bowens, Chicago parolee, arrested for 77th time for alleged candy theft

(CBS) CHICAGO - A Chicago has been accused of stealing a box of Starburst candy from a convenience store has been arrested for the 77th time, reports CBS Chicago.

And he's only 22.

This time, Amarri C. Bowens is reportedly facing a felony charge for theft as a result of his extensive criminal record. Bowens has been arrested 77 times and convicted 16 times for many crimes, including; trespassing, cannabis possession, retail theft and illegally selling on Chicago Transit Authority property .

According to CBS Chicago, Bowens allegedly stole a $30 box of Starburst candy from a subway convenience store.

The Chicago Tribune reports Bowens was sentenced to three years in prison in June of 2011 for burglary, and was paroled in December of 2012.

The alleged thief's bond was set at $30,000. He's reportedly due to appear in court on June 7th.
